Summary

En cuanto a la actividad económica, en el tercer trimestre de 2010 el PIB creció 3,6% anual, cifra inferior al rango proyectado por el equipo técnico. El débil desempeño de la inversión y de las exportaciones se explicó, en su orden, por las caídas registradas en la construcción de edificaciones y en las obras civiles, y por factores climáticos que afectaron los volúmenes de ventas externas de algunos productos básicos de origen agrícola y minero. El consumo de los hogares se aceleró nuevamente y fue el principal motor de la demanda interna en dicho trimestre.

Abstract

With regard to economic activity in the third quarter of 2010, the CPI annual growth was 3.6%, this figure being lower than the range projected by the technical team. The weak performance of investment and exports was in part explained, in that order, by the falls registered in building and civil works construction, as well as climate factors affecting external sales of some primary products of agricultural and mining origin. Again, household’s consumption was accelerated and became the main engine of domestic demand in the same quarter.
