La inclusión y la transformación social es un gran desafío para la región Caribe, no solo por las acciones requeridas para concretarlo, sino por los recursos que se requerirán para lograrlo. El objetivo de este documento es determinar las posibles fuentes de financiamiento de las inversiones requeridas para cerrar la brecha en los sectores propuestos en el marco de la iniciativa Casa Grande Caribe. Los sectores que estarían priorizados a través de esta iniciativa son: educación, salud, agua potable y saneamiento básico y nutrición. Los resultados muestran que existe un potencial de recursos cercano a los US$ 44.000 millones, de explotar el potencial tributario regional, de regalías y del presupuesto general de la nación. Transversal a todo esto, una mayor calidad del gasto público regional permitiría alcanzar mejores resultados con los recursos nuevos y existentes.

Social inclusion and transformation is a big challenge for the Caribbean region, not only for the actions required to settle on, but also for the economic resources to get it done. The purpose of this paper is to identify the main financing sources to get the socioeconomic gaps close in those sectors identified by Casa Grande Caribe, and project them over the period 2019-2030. Investments from these initiatives would prioritize health, education, sanitation and nutrition. Results show that that there is a significant potential of about US$44.000 million, coming from improving the regional tax potential, from royalties, and from the national budget. Across all the above, a necessary condition to get better results, with the existing and new financial resources, is a higher quality of the regional spending.
