The latter contradicts the assumption that new owners would implement substantial strategic changes - as international experience shows. If this is the case, then it would be fit to raise the following question: "What circumstances may have encouraged new owners not to make any substantial changes to the business strategies for their recently acquired companies?" A possible answer to this question is that, on the one hand, the approaches of the government to the privatization process, particularly with regard to the screening of purchasers, and on the other hand, the level of concentration of the resulting market structure after privatization could account for the difference in the behavior of new entrepreneurs vs. international practice. If the negotiating process of these companies was not transparent enough or the resulting market structure was not competitive enough, then there might not be insufficient incentives for new owners to behave more efficiently.34 páginas : tablasPDFengOpen AccessPrivatizaciónColombiaEmpresas inmobiliariasPrueba de WilcoxonUseThe effects of a monopolistic market structure on the assessment of privatized companies: the Colombia caseWorking PaperD4 - Market Structure, Pricing, and DesignD6 - Welfare EconomicsM00 - Business Administration and Business Economics; Marketing; Accounting; Personnel Economics: GeneralL1 - Market Structure, Firm Strategy, and Market PerformanceL2 - Firm Objectives, Organization, and BehaviorPrivatizationColombiaEstate-owned companiesWilcoxon´s testUsePrivatización de empresas -- Colombia -- 1990-2000 -- Estudio de casosEmpresas privatizadas -- Aspectos económicos -- Colombia -- 1990-2000 -- Estudio de casosPrivatización de empresas -- MetodologíaAcceso abiertoAtribucion-NoComercial-CompartirIgual CC BY-NC-SA 4.0D4 - Estructura de mercado, formación de precios y diseñoD6 - Economía del bienestarM00 - Administración de empresas y economía de la empresa; Marketing; Contabilidad; Economía de la gestión de personal: GeneralidadesL1 - Estructura de mercado, estrategia empresarial y funcionamiento del mercadoL2 - Objetivos, organización y comportamiento de la empresaLas opiniones contenidas en el presente documento son responsabilidad exclusiva de los autores y no comprometen al Banco de la República ni a su Junta Directiva.https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12134/2038
